An den Sabry kann ich mich noch gut erinnern, er ist mir damals in einem Spiel gegen die Austria so extrem positiv aufgefallen, dass ich mich gefragt habe, was so ein guter Spieler in Österreich macht!

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink war wirklich einmal auf einem Probetraining bei der Vienna zu Gast und hätte damals kaum Ablöse gekostet, wirklich sehr schade, dass sie ihn damals nicht verpflichtet haben.

Ansonsten fällt mir derzeit kein Spieler ein der nicht von einem österreichischen Klub verpflichtet wurde und dann noch zu einem großen Klub im Ausland gekommen ist.

Im Sport-Magazin war mal ein Interview vor dem Holland-Spiel mit Nistelroy.

Auf die Frage was er vom ö. Fußball kennt, konnte er nur sagen, dass er weiss, dass Ö. bei der WM 98 war und das damals Herbert Prohsaka Trainer war.

Mehr fiel ihm zum Fußball made in Austria nicht ein.

Naja wahrscheinlich hat er seine angeblichen anderen Berührungspunkte mit dem ö. Fußball schon damals verdrängt gehabt. Ich möchte ja auch nix von Rapid wissen.

der war aber auch bei uns kein flop, war publikumsliebling. weiss aber gar nit, warum er ging bzw. gehen musste.

kam übrigens schon lang nicht mehr auf die beine, nachdem er anfangs in Portugal überragend spielte und sogar auf der watchlist von Real Madrid stand, kam er in den letzten jahren überhaupt nimmer auf die beine, spielte letzte saison bei einem aufsteiger in die portugiesische erste liga kaum. was er jetzt macht, weiss ich nicht. hierzu ein interessanter, aber schon älterer (ich glaub irgendwann 2003) artikel:

AS: Well... I am not sure. Maybe, but we will see.

EP: You were wanted by Real Madrid, Liverpool, Fulham and Galatasaray at one stage in your career. Do you think this kind of interest may ever come again in your career?

AS: Yes, there were a lot of big clubs after me, because when I used to play at Benfica, my situation was good. But after that of course there were problems and it faded a bit.

EP: Which clubs were they exactly?

AS: The main club seriously interested was Real Madrid... because my manager at Benfica had managed Real Madrid, and won some Spanish titles with them. So he once took me and told me that Real Madrid want me. He said they were certainly watching you. They then spoke to the club every month regarding me.

EP: What happened then?

AS: Well, the Benfica manager left, and a new one came. There were problems with the new one.

EP: Any chance of returning to Egypt? There are rumours that Ahly are interested, can you clarify?...

AS: No offers at all from Egypt. Yes, Ahly are a very big and good club, but nobody from them has spoken to me at all. I see the news on Egyptian papers when I look at them, but that was the first time I'd heard of it! The papers wrote it but I don't know anything about it. They haven't spoken to me at all.

EP: Vengada (your former manager) is now Zamalek manager, is that good for Egyptian football in your opinion?

AS: He is a manager who was in charge of me at Maritimo, and of course he has experience in Portugal. He held the Portuguese Olympic team and won the European Championship with them. He has a good name in Portugal and he will do something good. He has his own special tactics and playing style.

EP: Do you think it may have an effect on your brother's career?

AS: The manager (Vengada) spoke to me and told me that it is a big club (Zamalek). He told me that there are two Sabry's in the squad. I told him yes, Mohammed and Amir. He asked 'Are they both your brothers'? I said no, one is and the other is just the same name. He said to me, 'Sabry is behind me everywhere!' (In Arabic: "Huwa Sabry waraya waraya?!")

EP: So will you return to Egypt on holiday for the summer?

AS: Yes I will go back for the holiday, but not yet. Still, in a few weeks, once I sign my contract with the new team I will go for the holiday.

EP: Finally, do you want to say anything to your fans or to EP?

AS: Yes I want to tell my fans that I love them a lot. You will see Abdelsatar get better and better. And God willing I will be as good as I was before, maybe even better inshaAllah. I also am willing to return to the national team. I also wish the national team every success, and I wish them the best, qualification for the African Cup of Nations, and that they perform very well and that they win the tournament. I also promise to keep this site up to date with my news, especially in the coming few weeks...

ach und irgendwer im transfermarkt.de forum oder so schreibt, dass er jetzt bei einem aufsteiger der ersten ägyptischen liga spielt. tiefer fall, hätt er doch auch nach Innsbruck zurückkommen können

bzgl. des topic: schade ist für mich immer noch, dass die Austria Marek Heinz nicht verpflichtet hat, als die gelegenheit da war. jetzt spielt er in deutschland bei Gladbach und kann sich - so scheints - wieder nicht so richtig in szene setzen, wohingegen er bei Ostrau und für Tschechien bei der EM überragend spielte. bin sicher der hätt bei der Austria ganz toll eingeschlagen. allerdings braucht es aktuell bei einem sturm Vastic-Rushfeldt keinen Heinz.

und warum war er dann so gut um für Tschechien zu treffen, unter anderem gegen Deutschland?

ausserdem, er hätt ja in österreich spielen sollen, und dafür ist er in JEDEM FALL gut genug, war ja in Tschechien torschützenkönig.

denke, in deutschland ist das für Heinz einfach ein mentales problem, gut möglich, dass er den grossen erwartungsdruck der zuseher dort einfach nicht standhält. in Tschechien und Österreich wäre das natürlich ganz anders, da kann er aufspielen wie er will, wenn er versagt ist er immer noch gut genug für die liga und wenn er gross aufspielt ist er der grosse held, und dann spielt er alle an die wand.
