da wartet man wohl nur mehr auf die unterschrift der spieler bzw des spielers (baptista würde ich mal sagen), die vereine selbst sind sich ja einig. die "marca" berichtete ja auch schon gestern abend vom "fixen" transfer...

was mich interessiert (nachdem gallas bei uns gelandet ist): was passiert mit huth? ist der boro deal geplatzt???

Chelsea defender Robert Huth has failed to complete his move to Middlesbrough.

The Stamford Bridge club appear to have held on to 22-year-old Huth because of fellow centre-back William Gallas's switch to Arsenal.

Middlesbrough stated they were confident of completing the £6m capture of Huth after the move had been agreed between all parties.

But Chelsea seem to have been unwilling to let two central defenders leave without bringing in a replacement.

Gallas's transfer to Arsenal was completed just before the transfer deadline on Thursday leaving the Premiership champions no time to sign cover.

Ashley Cole arrived at Chelsea as part of the deal but the England international is a left-back.

Middlesbrough were supposed to unveil Huth on Thursday but had to postpone the news conference as Chelsea held back on providing their stamp to green light the move.

Boro chief executive Keith Lamb hinted Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon was negotiating Cole's transfer but seemed certain Huth's switch would go through.

auf der offiziellen arsenal-hp hab ich noch nix glesn, aber auf sportnet.at steht, dass die täusche gallas-cole und reyes-baptista beide 11 minuten vor mitternacht noch zu stande kamen...

Chelsea’s transfer deadline day signing of Ashley Cole takes the number of England players in the current squad to six.

The 25 year-old international left-back is a product of the Arsenal youth system. Born in east London, he made his debut for the Gunners in the Worthington Cup at the age of 18.

He spent a three-month loan period at Crystal Palace at the end of the 1999/2000 season, making 14 appearances and scoring one goal. His progress was rewarded with his first Arsenal Premiership appearance in the final league game of the same season.

By the end of the following campaign, Cole had taken over as first choice left-back from Brazilian Silvinho and the next season was handed his first winners’ medals as Arsenal secured the Premiership and FA Cup double. He played all 90 minutes of Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat by our London rivals in the Cup Final in Cardiff and made a total of 33 appearances in the two victorious competitions.

Cole was to taste the other side of a Chelsea v Arsenal result when on the losing side in our famous Champions League triumph at Highbury in April 2004, but by then the player had won a second FA Cup Final, in 2003 against Southampton. He was also well on the way to his second Premiership title (playing 32 times in Arsenal’s unbeaten league season of 2003/4) and had become an England international.

Having played for England at youth and Under 21 levels, Cole was named in Sven-Göran Eriksson’s first squad and made his full international debut against Albania in March 2001. He played all five England games at the World Cup in 2002 and for many people, was one of his nation’s star performers during Euro 2004 in Portugal. He was named in the all-star squad for the tournament. In total Cole has 52 caps for England.

A third FA Cup win was added in 2005, Cole scoring in the deciding penalty shoot-out against Man United. Although last season he was hampered by two separate injuries that saw him play only one game in seven months, he recovered to start Arsenal’s Champions League Final defeat by Barcelona and was an ever-present in England’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals.

His athletic goal-line clearance against Ecuador is one of the enduring images of a low-key England campaign.

In the summer, Cole moved from the newspaper back pages to the front one when he married Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy. 

He played 156 games for Arsenal, scoring eight goals but has not played so far this season so will be eligible for Chelsea’s Champions League campaign.

He is now with John Terry, Frank Lampard, Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright-Phillips, preparing for England’s game with Andorra on Saturday. Joe Cole is recovering from a knee injury suffered in the States.

Huth completes £6m switch to Boro

Robert Huth's £6m move from Chelsea to Middlesbrough has been completed. Uncertainty surrounded the defender's future after it appeared Chelsea wanted to hold on to him after selling fellow centre-back William Gallas to Arsenal. But Boro said the 22-year-old German's registration was done before the deadline passed and he is their player. Boro wanted to unveil Huth along with on-loan Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate on Thursday but Chelsea dashed their plans by delaying the paperwork. Huth's move was successful at the second time of asking. Boro tried to sign the centre-back in July, but the player failed a medical and returned to the Premiership champions.

Dwight Yorke kehrt zurück auf die britische Insel. Der Stürmer wechselt vom FC Sydney für 200.000 Pfund nach Sunderland. Yorke, der als bester Fußballer aller Zeiten in Trinidad und Tobago gilt, hatte seine Karriere 1989 bei Aston Villa begonnen.

Bis 1998 spielte der 34-Jährige in Birmingham, ehe er für 12,6 Millionen Pfund zu Manchester United wechselte.

Dort gewann er als Sturmpartner von Andy Cole auf Anhieb die Champions League. Zusätzlich wurde er mit 18 Toren Torschützenkönig in der Premiere League. Über Blackburn Rovers und Birmingham City führte ihn sein Weg nach Australien.

Andy Cole hatte am Donnerstag seinen Wechsel von Manchester City zum FC Portsmouth bekannt gegeben.

Sobald der Transfer von allen Instanzen genehmigt ist, soll der Kapitän der brasilianischen U-19-Nationalmannschaft zunächst aber an ein kleineres Team ausgeliehen werden.

Hier sind ein paar interessante Infos und ein Bild über den jungen Brasilianer den sich Arsenal als "last-minute-Transfer" vom FC Sao Paulo geschnappt hat. Er soll wohl über kurz oder lang in die Fußstapfen seines Landsmannes Gilberto Silva treten - bin gespannt auf seine Entwicklung !

DENILSON befindet sich auf Probetraining bei Portsmouth. Der ehemals teuerste Spieler der Welt verließ im Sommer Bordeaux (danke, bub) und einigte sich mit dem saudiarabischen Club Al Nasr. Anscheinend kam das Engagement dort aber nicht zustande bzw. der Flügelspieler lehnte das Engagement ab. Er kann jetzt auch nach Ablauf der Transferfrist ablösefrei wechseln.
