Dagli spogliatoi di Firenze, Carlo Ancelotti saluta il Milan dopo otto anni di successi. "Con la società, di comune accordo, abbiamo deciso di interrompere il nostro rapporto con un anno di anticipo -ha detto il tecnico, emozionato- me ne vado in un clima di affetto, di stima reciproca. Io posso solo ringraziare la società, i giocatori e i tifosi per questi anni stupendi". Ancelotti non ha invece voluto annunciare il suo passaggio al Chelsea.

OFFICIAL: ANCELOTTI QUITS MILAN

Carlo Ancelotti has announced he is leaving Milan this summer "by mutual consent,” but refused to confirm a deal with Chelsea.

“In agreement with the club we have decided to terminate the contract a year early,” he said after the 2-0 victory at Fiorentina secured automatic entry into the Champions League.

“My wonderful experience with this side ends today. I thank all the players, directors, fans and everyone involved.

“I think it ends in the right way and is probably the right choice for both of us. The respect and affection remains with all the people who over the years participated in this adventure.”

The split has been on the cards for some time, but Ancelotti continued to insist he had not lied when he said he was “100 per cent” sure of staying.

“We spoke about it after the game with [Vice-President Adriano] Galliani and [President Silvio] Berlusconi. We decided together to make this decision without problems. We part in sync and with no disagreements.”

He is expected to join Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, especially after writing in his book about a meeting with Roman Abramovich.

“I cannot officialise my future because I do not have an agreement with any other club.”

President Berlusconi did not always support his Coach in public, but again Ancelotti refused to criticise the patron.

“I have great respect and love for President Berlusconi. We've had a few disagreements over the years, but this is the day to thank him for eight wonderful years of my career.

“He let me spend nearly a decade at the helm of a great club that was at the top of world football, so my gratitude goes beyond the odd phone call.

“The decisions were made at the end of this season. It was a complicated campaign and we left it two months ago with the agreement we'd make the decision after the final game. That's what we did.

“I hope you'll know what my future is soon. London is not necessarily the guaranteed next stop.”

Der Schlussatz lässt darauf spekulieren, dass er nicht zu Chelsea sondern zu Real wechseln könnte! Na bin ja gespannt....

Die letzten Jahre waren nicht mehr so toll trotzdem darf man nicht vergessen was er alles mit Milan erreicht hat.

Danke Ancelotti und viel Glück in der Zukunft.

Leo kann man noch nicht einschätzen, ich bin schon gespannt was er für eine Philosophie hat. Morgen zu Mittag ist eine PK angesetzt, vielleicht wird man da schon mehr erfahren. Hoffentlich darf er das Team nach seinen Vorstellungen zusammenstellen.

Ist schon interessant, das Milan und Juve jetzt auf sehr junge Trainer setzen werden, in Anlehnung an Guardiola, kann man nur hoffen das, dass international gut geht. Bei Milan wird sich jedenfalls einiges tun im Sommer, bin schon gespannt auf die erste Elf von Milan kommende Saison, wird wieder ein Sommer voller Gerüchte werden, aber das passt schon, sonst wärs eh fad nach dem Confed Cup.

Wird sowohl bei Milan als auch bei Juve interessant. Beide Vereine müssen investieren um die Qualität des Kaders zu steigern ansonsten wird es nächstes Jahr wieder eine äußerst langweilige Titelentscheidung geben. Juve hat ja mit Diego schon einen Schritt in die richtige Richting gemacht aber das wird noch nicht reichen.

Bin auch schon auf Leonardo gespannt, angeblich will er ja ein 4-3-3 spielen, wofür aber einige Veränderungen nötig wären, zudem dürfte er auf Seedorf verzichten wollen...

Pirlo zudem ja ein Liebkind Carlos dass ihm eventuell gen London anchfolgen könnte...

Danke Carlo, vor allem natürlich für die zwei Championsleague-Titel, aber auch manch spielerisch geniales Jahr wie etwa 2005/06. Nachträglich muss man aber leider feststellen, dass der Rücktritt um zwei Jahre zu spät gekommen ist. Hoffentlich erhält Leonardo sämtliche Mittel um frischen Wind in die alten Gemäuer hineinzubringen...
